Apollo Series 65 Optical Smoke Detector

The Apollo Optical Smoke Detector, Series 65, are less prone to false alarms and are able to operate in different environments. The optical technology makes it suitable for use in bedroom and escape routes.

Using an LED inside the detector, it checks every 3 seconds for the presence of smoke. Should smoke be inside the chamber, it will reflect the light onto a sensor. This will then trigger the alarm. Optical detectors are good for sensing smouldering fires, which are generally caused by the burning of furnishings.

To create a reliable fire alarm system, consider using a mixture of different sensors. The casing is identical to the Apollo Ionisation Smoke Detector, which means you can still consider the aesthetics of your premises.
