Smoke detectors can save lives, but only if they are working properly. It is all too easy to put up battery-powered smoke detectors in your home or office, and forget to replace the batteries.

A mains 230v smoke or heat alarm solves this problem; simply wire it in and leave it to guard your home or premises. Easy Fire Safety offer two types of mains smoke alarms, optical and ionisation.

Optical and Ionisation 230V Smoke and Heat Alarms

Optical alarms detect smoldering or slow-burning fires, which produce smoke or ash rather than flames. Optical smoke alarms are ideal for use near a kitchen or bathroom, as they are not activated by steam.

Ionisation smoke alarms detect fires that burn rapidly, with a lot of flames. Ionisation alarms are best placed in areas containing furniture or furnishings, from lounges to staff rooms, offices to bedrooms.

Mains heat alarms only sound when the temperature rises above 57 degrees C (135 degrees F), and most modern kitchens have them fitted as standard. Since mains heat alarms detect heat, not particles, they won't go off if you just burn the toast!

In case of power failure, all our mains smoke and heat detectors come with back-up batteries. For complete peace of mind, choose an alarm with a 10-year battery back-up, such as the Kidde 223/9hill optical mains smoke alarm.
